Effectively eliminate mosquitoes and other biting insects from homeowners' outdoor living areas with the industry's most effective perimeter insect
control system. The totally automated MistAway System allows the homeowner to thoroughly enjoy gatherings with friends and family without
continuously swatting at pesky critters.
The insect control system automatically sprays a fine mist of a botanical insecticide through nozzles discreetly installed around the perimeter of the outdoor kitchen and living area and/or the entire backyard. Two to three short mists per day is all it takes to eliminate insects.

The Mistaway System:

A MistAway system automatically sprays a very fine mist of dilute botanical insecticide through a nozzle circuit that is installed around the perimeter of a living area or backyard where family and friends gather to spend time together. The mist settles on grass and landscaping and as mosquitos and other pests come into contact with the active ingredient, they are killed.
The system is typically timed to spray for short durations (45 seconds) at dusk and dawn when mosquitos are most active

Manage Multiple Zones:

A single mosquito misting unit can power a practical maximum of around 60-70 nozzles. Placed every 12 feet, that translates into around 800 feet of protected perimeter. While that is sufficient for most homes, there are properties that demand many more mosquito misting nozzles. The Zone Kit effectively doubles the number of nozzles that a single unit can drive. Without it, a large installation would require multiple units.

Pyrethrin:

The active ingredient in the formulations most commonly used in outdoor insect control and automated mosquito mist systems is called pyrethrin, which is derived from the extract of chrysanthemum flowers. In additional to being widely used in horticulture, the vast majority of pyrethrin formulations are found in household aerosols and pet shampoos. Pyrethrins are also commonly used to protect food processing and handling facilities and equipment and to protect stored foods like grain.
Though derived from flowers, it is not completely correct to think of it as either “natural” or “organic” because it is highly refined and contains a manmade “synergist” (Piperonyl Butoxcide) that increases its effectiveness. When applied in a mist, pyrethrin flushes mosquitoes from foliage where they harbor and then impairs their nervous system. Shortly after application, the pyrethrin is rapidly degraded by sunlight, and leaves the yard free of residue.

Pyrethrins possess additional characteristics that are suitable for misting:

• The toxicity to pets and children is extremely lowas pyrethrins are rapidly metabolized by the body
• Effective against flying insects at low concentrations
• Rapid degradation by sunlight and rain, leaving the area free of residual ingredients

Precautions:

• Pyrethrins are not species selective and their contact will also kill beneficial insects like bees and butterflies. Fortunately, these insects are active during the day light when mosquitos are not.
• These formulations are also highly toxic to fish and some plants have adverse reactions.

Permethrin

Scientists have developed a synthetic variant of pyrethrin, called permethrin, that has most of the same characteristics as pyrethrin. An important difference is that the man-made permethrin is not as readily destroyed by sunlight and leaves a longer lasting residue. This can be desirable if the mosquito activity is very high or in an application – like an outdoor restaurant - where the mosquito mist system should not run during the dusk cycle because people are around.

Total Amount of Active Ingredient

A 40 nozzle system with an average pressure of 200 psi will atomize about 1600ml in a one minute mist (40 nozzles x 40ml/min = 1600ml). The amount of active ingredient is slightly less than one teaspoon per mist or less the three teaspoons per day.

EcoExempt

There is an insecticide that is eco-friendly and free of any toxicity. The active ingredients include rosemary oil, cinnamon oil and lemongrass oil. While effective, it is very corrosive to the misters and overall system.
